IronLinks: Industrial Monitoring Without the Complexity

Legacy PLCs don't have to mean legacy monitoring. IronLinks bridges the gap between old-school industrial equipment and modern dashboards — no cloud subscriptions required.

If you work in manufacturing or industrial automation, you know the problem:

You have PLCs that work fine — maybe Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, or older SLC 500s. They run your machines, they're reliable, but they don't talk to anything. No data visibility. No way to see what's happening unless you're standing right there at the panel.

What Is IronLinks?

IronLinks is an on-premise IoT platform that connects your factory floor PLCs to a real-time web dashboard. It runs entirely on your network — a single server, all in Docker containers. No internet required after setup.

Here's how it works:

  1. IronNodes — small, low-cost edge devices — connect directly to your PLCs via Ethernet or serial
  2. They read PLC values and stream data over MQTT to your local server
  3. A web dashboard displays everything in real-time — machines, status, production counts, alarms
  4. You can access it from anywhere on your network. No cloud. No subscription.

Why On-Premise?

Three reasons:

1. Your data stays yours. It doesn't go to a cloud provider. It doesn't get monetized. It lives on your server, in your database, under your control.

2. Works in air-gapped environments. No internet? No problem. Deploy via USB, run offline indefinitely.

3. One cost, not monthly forever. You buy it (or build it), you run it. No $500/month per user subscriptions.

Key Features

Real-Time Monitoring
See live PLC values updated every few seconds. Customizable dashboards with gauges, charts, status indicators, tank levels, production counters.

Fleet-Wide Visibility
View all machines at once. Color-coded online/offline status, searchable lists, logical grouping. Monitor an entire facility from a single screen.

Plug-and-Play PLC Support
Out of the box: Allen-Bradley Ethernet/IP (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and DF1 Serial (SLC 500, MicroLogix). A built-in tag browser discovers PLC tags automatically — no manual address entry required.

Alarm Management
Define alarms against any PLC value or status bit. Surface them immediately with severity levels. Export alarm history to CSV for compliance.

Custom Reporting
Generate reports filtered by date range, shift schedule, or machine. Use built-in templates or write custom Python scripts in a browser-based code editor. Export to PDF or CSV.

Who It's For

IronLinks is designed for:

  • Small to mid-size manufacturers who need visibility without enterprise-scale cost
  • Facilities with legacy PLCs (SLC 500, MicroLogix) lacking built-in connectivity
  • Plants requiring on-premise data due to security policy or air-gap requirements
  • Operations teams that want alarm tracking and shift-based reporting without a custom SCADA build
